Martin Bowmaster has seen a lot of what Blue Ocean has to offer. Beginning his career with the company three years ago as a Service Support Specialist, Martin was promoted to a coaching position on his program immediately following training. He would eventually go on to train and coach every department on the project as well as assisting with program reporting and other administrative duties when needed.
Martin's background has prepared him well to deliver the high quality customer service that Blue Ocean offers their clients. He has worked for the Daily News in Halifax, Nova Scotia as a member of their advertising sales team. He also had 5 years of contact center experience before starting at Blue Ocean including two years booking New York City and Boston area reservations for Marriot Hotels and Resorts and Ritz Carleton luxury hotels. Martin is currently working as a Customer Support Specialist for an exciting new client of Blue Ocean's; a Canadian provider of sophisticated technology to international educators and business customers.
Martin believes that Blue Ocean is a company that understands the value of their employees and displays the passion they have for what they do everyday. "This translates into dedicated employees who carry that same passion," he says. "I've learned and witnessed that when you have a team that truly cares about the job they are doing, you can accomplish extraordinary things." Martin credits the best part of his job to getting to work with so many different people and personalities, a feature of Blue Ocean that is hard to escape given that there are over 250 dynamic individuals in the Halifax office alone with over 600 across Canada.
In his spare time, Martin is an accomplished musician playing at open mics around Halifax with a roster of all original music. He also brought his musical skills to the St. Andrews Arts Council in a historical theater performance about the region. We're hoping he might play us a tune at the next staff party! |
