Sean Mohammed has been a member of the Blue Ocean team since March 2006. Always a ‘people person’, Sean got his start as an Agent, where he quickly proved his potential and interest in recruitment. It was not long before Sean got called up to the recruiting offices to gain his title as Recruiting Coordinator.
As recruiter extraordinaire, Sean is responsible for screening applications, following up with interested job candidates, conducting in-person interviews, and selecting the right people for the job. Blue Ocean serves a wide variety of client projects, each requiring a certain type of worker. This is where Sean’s match-making skills come into play. “In my role, I get to meet and interact with many different people. They all have unique personalities – different values, beliefs, and cultures. I love the challenge that comes with establishing the right fit”, says Sean.
Professionalism and dignity are of utmost importance to Sean. When asked ‘what is the single-most important piece of knowledge you’ve learned at Blue Ocean?’ he says, “When you are a responsible, reliable, dedicated person, and when you have a positive attitude, everyone around you benefits from that. I truly believe that a good attitude is very contagious in the workplace.”
Sean is living proof of the opportunities for advancement that exist within Blue Ocean. He cites this, as well as support from his recruiting team and management, as the qualities he values most in Blue Ocean. Of course, recruitment is one of many passions Sean has. He also loves travelling, recreational sports, and spicy food. Shockingly, Sean didn’t always plan on becoming a Recruiting Coordinator; and in fact, when he was little, his sights were set on being a Transformer. We’re glad Plan A didn’t work out! |
