In The Community - Overview

CCL Group and its member companies are pleased to donate both time and resources to the communities in which we operate and we like to encourage our employees to do the same.  We take pride in supporting a variety of organizations and programs that are committed to making lives better.  These are just a few of some of the events and programs we have either organized or taken part in.

QE2 and IWK - Bust a Move

To support the QE2 and IWK Foundation, a team from Colour sweat, er, glistened through 6 hours of exercise for a worthy cause. The MadMams raised over $4000 is support of Bust a Move, organized by the QE2 Foundation and one of Colour's top clients, the IWK Foundation.

751 participants laced up their sneakers and worked it out with local fitness celebrities and Richard Simmons at the breast health fundraiser which raised $1,143,169 for the purchase of digital mammography equipment. Two world records were also set at the event. Halifax is now in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most pairs hugging and the longest massage chain.

In response to the relief efforts organized in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that ravaged Haiti, Blue Ocean made arrangements so everyone could get involved and participate in helping through monetary donations to the Red Cross which would ultimately be match by the Federal Government of Canada.. In addition to a corporate donation on behalf of CCL Group, employees of Blue Ocean Contact Centers were able to contribute a one time donation through payroll deduction which resulted in thousands of dollars being raised to support the Red Cross.

United Way Executive Campaign

CCL Group member companies have proudly been involved in the United Way's Executive Campaign for a number of years now. Through payroll deduction and a variety of organized events orchestrated by a committee of CCL Group company employees, tens of thousands of dollars have been raised annually to support the Metro United Way and its funded organizations.  The 2009/2010 committee organized on online auction, chili cookoff, pancake breakfast, Wii Bowling championshiop, and 50/50 draws to help raise over $52,000 for the Metro Halifax United Way this year.
