Manulife Dragon Boat Festival 2008

This year, 37 of Blue Ocean's finest participated in the annual Manulife Dragon Boat Festival at Lake Banook. The Dragon Boat Festival is held every year to raise money for the Nova Scotia Amateur Sport Fund, a charity organization that helps increase participation in sport by supporting amateur athletes, coaches, officials, and community-based programs throughout Nova Scotia.

The team fund raised over $2500 for the cause and also practiced together in the weeks leading up to the event. The team spirit was high as was the enthusiasm to come back next year and win!
