COLOUR TEAMS UP WITH

SIMON CHISHOLM CONSULTING

Colour is teaming up with Simon Chisholm Consulting to strengthen its public affairs practice area in Nova Scotia. As a result, Simon Chisholm Consulting co-owner Robert Chisholm will serve as a senior client advisor for Colour’s roster of clients. This will be a part-time role and Simon Chisholm will continue to work with other clients the pension benefits consulting and labour union field, independent of its partnership with Colour.
.
“For the first time in 10 years, Nova Scotia has a new government and Robert Chisholm will be able to help our clients navigate these new realities,” said Chris Keevill, president of Colour. “Working with Colour’s senior vice president of public affairs Robert Batherson, Simon Chisholm Consulting will provide unparalleled insights into the new government and its agenda.”

Simon Chisholm Consulting is owned by Robert Chisholm and Paula Simon.  Chisholm served 12 years in the Nova Scotia legislature, including four as leader of the Nova Scotia New Democratic Party, leading the party to official opposition status for the first time in the province’s history in 1998.

Following his departure from public life in 2003, he worked as regional director for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). Following the recent provincial election in Nova Scotia, he co-chaired the transition team for Premier Darrell Dexter.  Simon is a former senior negotiator with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice and was a successful realtor for five years.

“Some of the most successful NDP governments in Canada have enjoyed constructive, responsible relationships with the business community,” said Mr. Chisholm.  “By working with the team at Colour, Simon Chisholm Consulting will play an important role in giving businesses and other organizations the right advice to grow and prosper in Nova Scotia.  In many ways, I see this role as acting as a bridge between the business community and the new government – helping both understand each other better.”
