Blue Ocean is proud to announce that a team representing the company has recently captured the 2009 IWK Softball Tournament beating out 9 other teams to take home the championship trophy. Fifteen people from Blue Ocean played in the inter-contact center event that raised money for the IWK Health Center in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The tournament took place at the Halifax Commons where Blue Ocean prevailed against the team from Nova Scotia Power in their first game with a 14-12 finish. The team changed fields and took a fifteen minute break before a resounding win over the Staples team, 13-2. The following game against Convergys saw Blue Ocean met with some stellar defense and resulted in an 11-3 win for Convergys. Unfazed by the loss, Blue Ocean moved onto game 4 versus Manulife.

Confidence was restored Blue Ocean was able to get back in the game with a 15-11 win over Manulife. It was then on to the “Battle of Bayers Road” as Blue Ocean took on neighbor Admiral Insurance. Blue Ocean coasted to a 13-2 win which sent the team to the playoffs against the Convergys team again who went 5-0 in round robin play.
